‘Prometheus’ Dagger
Angles, geometric congruence, and contrasting color schemes were the main focus around this perfectly balanced takedown Quillion dagger. The sleek yet large pommel serves as an excellent counterweight to the blade, making this blade a very effective and quick parrying dagger.
The guard, pommel, and pommel nut are all hand-forged and sculpted from stainless steel. They were then carefully given a matte grey finish with mirror highlighted facets and Greek key engravings. The handle itself is polished and faceted African Blackwood, with highlighted bronze spacers on the top and bottom of it.
The blade itself is a high-layer firestorm pattern, keeping with the theme of Prometheus. In order to give the blade more of a classy and clean look, I took it to a low-contrast high-polish. This gives it much more shine and makes the blade much less delicate because there are no oxides to scuff in use.
Steel: 1075/15N20 high carbon Damascus
Handle: 309 SS, bronze, African Blackwood
Length: 7.75” blade, 13.25” overall
Sheath: Flame pattern hand-tooled and died leather
