‘Solis’ Integral Mosaic Damascus Chef

Sale Price: $2,900.00 Original Price: $3,800.00

Solis, meaning sun, is a fitting name for this integral mosaic Damascus chef’s knife. The mosaic pattern resembles starry explosions surrounded by infernos of high-layer Damascus. The mosaic alternating twist Damascus edge bar adds a touch of uniform chaos to the blade and elevates the already stunning pattern.

The bolsters of this knife are matching mosaic Damascus that have been delicately forged-welded onto the knife so that they continue the pattern of the blade. The sleek handle is sculpted from stabilized, highly figured Afzelia Xylay. This rare and beautiful wood grain resembles rolling flames, keeping with the theme. The through-tang handle is secured using a threaded pommel nut which is hidden by yet another piece of perfectly centered mosaic Damascus that has been inlaid into the butt of the handle

The edge geometry is delicate and laser-thin with a flat to convex grind and a strong distal taper, providing effortless cuts and an edge great for rocking, drop cuts, draw cuts, and push cutting soft foods.

Steel: 1084/15N20 high-carbon mosaic Damascus

Handle: Stabilized Afzelia Xylay burl, mosaic Damascus inlay

Blade length: 9”

Handle length: 4.25” (from choil to end of butt plate), 3.875” (bottom finger well length)

Heel height: 2.25”

Grind: Full flat grind

Note: This knife was initially made for a woman’s smaller hand, so it has a slightly shorter and more delicate handle. It is very lightweight, making it ideal for for a smaller hand or to be held primarily in a pinch grip. Email me with any further questions at bridgerarms9@gmail.com
